Jen and I drove down to Jeff’s Canoe Rental (yes, that is their real name) in Annapolis, MO for a day on the Black River.
We woke up at the crack of dawn 7:30, made a quick Waffle House run and two hours later boarded Jeff’s bus with a bunch of dogs and river people. We may have stuck out a bit.
It’s been well over 100 degrees all week, and after the great sunburn incident of 2011 and the angry mole of 2012, we both decided to take a few extra sun precautions. I’m happy to report minimal burning.
We also stumbled across a cheap waterproof digital camera while buying supplies… and it turned out to be a lot of fun.
We found a fairly large cave with a very cold spring running out of it. If we go again I will definitely bring a flashlight because it went on for quite a ways.
Jen did some poses and I found a rope swing.
With so much paddling to do, snacks were a must.
I look forward to going back.
